When an orphan grows up

Once in a while you dream about your dead parents. You just cannot help it. Maybe it's their way for you to remember them since you haven't really thought about them in years. Maybe they were trying to communicate with you, to tell you how much they miss you, that they are always watching over you. Then you wake up. You cry because you don't want it to end. You want to spend more time with them for a few more hours, for just a little bit longer.

Years after years, you believed that you have continued so well ahead with your life. But then you realize you will never ever move on. That you are forever wounded from their loss. All you can do is spend a lifetime outliving them. Then, some more years passed and you think of those events in your life where your parents' presence is necessary, like your wedding, your graduation, your first job. You wonder how they would feel if they're alive. Will they be proud?

We have but one father and one mother. And the kind of love we have for them is unparalleled. That no matter how much time we spend looking for something similar in this world, nothing will equate. And that reality alone tears us all up entirely.

This is the Leyte I am choosing to remember.

Photo from Google/iamtravelinglight.com

I pray for those who died in the typhoon.
I pray for those family who are now trying to survive, that may they find solace with each other during these difficult times.
I pray for the people who are helping the victims, that may they have more strength to keep going forward and bring aid.
I pray for our government leaders that they may strive to place the good of those they serve above any and all personal gain.
I pray for the Philippines.
I can never know how all the victims truly feel but I do hope and pray that may their hearts and minds be healed.

LEVEL OF CUTENESS IS OVER 100000000!

DISCLAIMER: This is not a baby blog. Although I have been posting A LOT about babies and little girls lately. Oh, universe!

For today's journey in the internet world, I came across this post about a dad who takes pictures of his two daughters. Not just any picture though, he has the most creative and interesting photo I have ever seen. And somehow, his daughters make everyone wants to be a dad. Posted below are my favorite ones but you can see more pictures on their website: http://kristinandkayla.blogspot.com/

P.S. How to make a mess and blame it on you sister for dummies. Hmmn. Where can I find that? :)

Zara Mini

Babies. Babies everywhere.

I constantly found myself swooning over these tiny sweaters, little dresses, and teensy-weensy onesies. I also almost shed a tear over those super adorable shoes. Oh my, those little shoes! I don't know if the universe is trying to tell me something but I know for sure I'm not ready to have a baby. Not yet.

But someone please let me borrow a baby that I can spoil and have tea parties with. Pretty please?

It Girl In The Making: Aila Wang

Looking through all the NYFW shows and street styles, there is this one little fashionista I cannot forget. She is Alexander Wang’s niece, Aila Wang. She is the cutest and most adorable little girl I have ever seen. She's only three years old but her style is better than mine. I love the fact that she has baby versions of everything. From mini Chanel bag to cute fur jackets. It's just too adorable for my life!

Can’t wait to see where she ends up. You can never start too early, right?

REASONS WHY YOU HAVE TO DATE A FORESTER

There are lots of articles about dating, some popular ones like, "Why Date An Engineering Major", "20 Reason Not To Date A Photographer", "Date A Girl Who Reads", "Date A Man Who Dreams" and many more. Google something like, Date A *insert occupation here* and I'm pretty sure you'll see one. I think it was in order that I make my own. I not only dated a Forester, I MARRIED one. Hence, my version.

1. They will teach you the importance of having roots.

2. You will be able to help the environment.

3. You will somehow learn how to identify a good furniture. You will hear things like, oak, mahogany, pine, ash, birch. For them it's easy, but for us common human beings, it's as complicated as fork.

4. You will be more appreciative of life. "Oh, this wood is superb." Act all in awe when you see him staring at a Pottery Barn table.

5. Impressing your father is easy because they know how to cut firewood with an ax.

6. You will definitely learn how to conserve EVERYTHING. Water, electricity, gas, paper.

7. What is more badass than using a chainsaw?

8. You will never be hungry. They will turn your backyard into a farm.

9. They will tend your garden. Everyone else is incompetent.

10. They will help you how to keep standing.

New obsession: Midi dress

Since lady-like looks are all over the runway, I thought I should invest in some midi dresses. I just love wearing skirts and dresses. I think they're the most comfortable clothing ever. And as much as I would like to wear skirts/dresses at work, I can't.

So now I have a new obsession, midi dresses. Which is ideal because walking down the road in Hackensack wearing anything short results in numerous disgusting men shouting out of their stupidly loud cars. I really don't understand them at all, has any of them ever pulled anyone from shouting "Hey you, sexy girl!" out of their car window? I'm guessing NEVER! The irony of the situation is that if you tell them to f*ck off they start getting janky about your looks. I will never understand men. Rant over.

Below are some of my favorite dresses. All from ASOS.

And so we eloped...

My entire life I have been that girl who has dreamed of getting married. I imagine myself walking down the aisle, with hundreds of people staring down at me, as I gracefully float to my soon-to-be husband. I can admit that I have joined the mobs of woman frequenting Pinterest in the pursuit of nice wedding ideas. Weddings are just so beautiful and I have been sucked right in.

And now I am married... to the most amazing guy in the world.

I am in love with him. Everything with him feels amazing. Not perfect, but right.

Years ago I absolutely had no idea I'd be married to Iko. Four years ago I had been in and out of crazy relationships faster than you can say Taylor Swift. I moved back to New Jersey and had long distance relationship with Iko. I just dyed my hair blonde last month (which looks weird, by the way). I don’t have my life together like I thought I would when I someday became a wife. I still struggle with time management. I am more out of shape than I ever have been. My career is still being built and cultivated. I am on the brink, sure. But aren’t we always in seasons of transition? Aren’t we always reaching onward and upward? Iko married me for exactly who I am, not for who I am striving to be. And not only that, but the big glorious wedding? I care less about that now than I ever did. I married my soulmate. That is all that matters now.

This is the end. And the beginning.
